Pet Microchipping

What does this mean for you and your pet?

No one ever expects to lose a pet, but in a matter of seconds, life can change. A door left open, a sudden noise, or an unexpected dash outside can lead to one of the most frightening moments a pet parent can face.

We understand how heartbreaking it is even to imagine your pet going missing. That’s why we strongly recommend microchipping as a safe, reliable way to help bring lost pets back home, where they belong.

Unlike collars or ID tags, which can fall off or get damaged, a microchip provides a permanent form of identification that stays with your pet for life. It’s a small, simple step that can make all the difference in reuniting you with the one you love most, when every second counts.

How does microchipping work?

Microchipping involves placing a tiny chip, about the size of a grain of rice, just beneath your pet’s skin, typically between the shoulder blades. The procedure is quick, painless, and similar to a vaccination.

The chip holds a unique ID number that’s linked to your contact information in a secure, national pet recovery database. If your pet is found and brought to a shelter or veterinary clinic, a scanner can instantly read the chip and connect them back to you.
