International Health Certificates

Planning a trip with your pet? We’ve got your paperwork covered.

We know traveling, especially internationally, can be stressful. Bringing your pet along adds a few extra steps, but you don’t have to navigate it alone.

We offer international health certificates and will walk you through the process to make sure your pet meets all the requirements for your destination. From timelines to paperwork, we’ll help take the pressure off so you can focus on preparing for your trip (and maybe packing a favorite toy or two).

Whether it’s your pet’s first flight or they’re a frequent flyer, we’re here to make the journey a little easier for both of you.

If you are going to be traveling out of the country, please fill out the following form to be put in contact with our team.

USDA Accredited Veterinarians: Dr. Thomas Burns, Dr. Michelle Zarif, Dr. Travis Lang, and Dr. Christina Chamberlin.

If the pet is returning to the USA, it is the pet owner’s responsibility to ensure that the pet meets the requirements of the destination country and the United States. Failure to meet the requirements may result in problems gaining certificate endorsement (when required) or difficulty upon arrival in the destination country.

International Travel Health Certificates

Traveling internationally with your pet can be stressful — but it doesn’t have to be. Veterinary Associates of Cape Cod has partnered with Pawsitive Pet Health Certificates (PPHC) to help make the process as smooth and straightforward as possible.

PPHC specializes in guiding pet owners through the specific health requirements needed for international travel. Their team works closely with both our hospital and the USDA to prepare and endorse your pet’s travel documents. They provide full support throughout the entire process, including:

  • Reviewing your pet’s medical records
  • Preparing the correct health certificate for your destination
  • Coordinating USDA endorsement
  • Tracking the endorsed documents and ensuring they return to you before travel

Getting Started

To begin the process, please complete PPHC’s new-client questionnaire here:
https://www.pawsitivepethealthcertificates.com/contact-us

After submitting the form, PPHC will reach out within a few days with a contract and deposit request. Please complete these steps promptly so their team can begin preparing your pet’s paperwork.

Once all requirements have been reviewed, PPHC will send a detailed checklist to both you and our travel coordinator at the hospital. When you receive that checklist, please call us to schedule your appointment according to PPHC’s recommendations.

We’re here to ensure your pet’s journey is safe, compliant, and stress-free.
Wishing you and your pet happy tails on your upcoming adventure!
